For accountants

An operating system for the modern firm

True multi-client: each client with their own certificate, their own series and their own books. You with a single login and a view of the whole portfolio.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure compliance demands

VeriFactu isn't a feature: it's the foundation everything in Cofactu is built on.

Tamper-proof hash chain

Each invoice is cryptographically linked to the previous one. If the chain breaks, we detect and repair it ourselves.

Authenticated automatic submission

XML to Orden HAC/1177/2024, chained and submitted through a certificate-authenticated connection. The example above is a sandbox test, not a guaranteed AEAT response time.

Alerts before every deadline

Certificates, AEAT authorisations and forms with T-90, T-30 and T-7 alerts. Unique in the market: nothing expires by surprise.

Open API, data in the EU

Everything the interface does, the API does. Webhooks, bank bank reconciliation and data always in Frankfurt, GDPR by design.

How it works

You invoice, we handle VeriFactu

From your click to the AEAT's official record. You only ever see the first step.

Step 1

You create the invoice

Manually, from the POS, via API or imported from Holded, Quipu or Sage. With live AEAT validation: impossible to send a malformed invoice.

Step 2

We turn it into VeriFactu

Official XML and a SHA-256 chained hash, followed by a certificate-authenticated submission. You do not need to handle the technical format.

Step 3

The AEAT files it

We submit the record and store the AEAT response with the PDF and XML. If something fails, we retry and alert you.

FAQ

Got questions? Here are the answers

And if yours isn't here, email us at hola@cofactu.com — we reply within an hour.

What is VeriFactu and why do I need compliant software?

VeriFactu is a submission mode under Spain's invoicing-system rules in RD 1007/2023 and Order HAC/1177/2024. From the applicable 2027 deadlines, software must generate integral chained records and the required QR and, in VeriFactu mode, submit them to the AEAT. Statutory penalties depend on the infringer and legal scenario.

Does Cofactu file my invoices with the AEAT automatically?

Yes. Each record is submitted to the AEAT when you issue or approve the invoice. The QR is printed on the PDF and Cofactu stores the official response when it arrives, without guaranteeing a fixed response time. If rejected, we email you the explained code and how to fix it.

Can I migrate from Holded, Quipu or Sage without losing data?

Yes. We import clients, products and historical invoices (with OCR if they come as PDFs) and keep your numbering. A typical migration from Holded takes under 30 minutes. We have step-by-step guides in the /migrar/holded section.

Does it work for accountants with many clients?

Cofactu was built for accounting firms. Native multi-tenant: a single account, all your clients with their own digital certificates, tax IDs, series and books. Bulk operations, batch review, client portal with magic link and a magic onboarding that cuts adding a new client from 3 hours to 8 minutes.

What happens to my data if I leave Cofactu?

You export it. No add-ons, no lock-in. An "export everything" button in Settings: a ZIP with all invoices as signed PDF + XML, VAT book, journal entries and a CSV ready for Holded/Quipu if you want to leave. We won't hold you hostage: if Cofactu isn't a fit, better you find out early.

Is my data secure?

AES-256-GCM encryption in R2 for digital certificates, mTLS connection with the AEAT, database in Neon EU (Frankfurt), GDPR compliance by design, TOTP 2FA, aggressive rate limiting and full audit logging. Details at /seguridad — an exhaustive comparison vs. Holded/Quipu/Contasimple/Sage.

Is there human support if I get stuck?

Yes. Human chat inside the product (no bots), email at hola@cofactu.com, WhatsApp for accountants. Average response time: under 1h during business hours. No tickets lost in the void or "ticket #28491 escalated to the technical department".
