vs ContasimpleComparison

Cofactu vs Contasimple — no Cegid signing your invoices.

After Cegid's 2022 acquisition, Contasimple raised prices 141% in 6 years, signs with its own certificate (not the client's) and carries severe slowness post-Ekon merger. Comparison with real Trustpilot data (May 2026).

Real pricing

Real cost for your usage, not the "starting from" price

Contasimple's base price sounds good until you add extras and add-ons — the standalone modules you need to run as a real business. Typical scenarios:

Active self-employed with ≥50 invoices/year

Cofactu

€9/month (1,000 OCR/month + full tax forms)

No extras. No surprises.

Contasimple

Base: Professional €7.95/month (no sustained OCR)

  • + OCR €9 per 50 scans
  • + No balance sheet

Total: ≈ €17/month with real usage

Small business with stock + multi-currency + accounting reports

Cofactu

€19/month

No extras. No surprises.

Contasimple

Base: Ultimate €11.95/month

  • + Stock control: +€6/month (€72/year)
  • + No multi-currency (not supported)
  • + No balance sheet (blocks Modelo 200)

Total: ≈ €18/month with functional limitations

Accounting firm with 50 tax IDs + per-client certificate

Cofactu

€49/month (unlimited clients + encrypted per-org certificate)

No extras. No surprises.

Contasimple

Base: Custom Accounting Firms plan (not public)

  • + Mandatory sales call
  • + Risk of shared Cegid certificate

Total: Opaque pricing + doubts over certificate custody

Migration

Assisted migration from Contasimple

Coming from Contasimple post-Cegid (price hikes, slowness, certificate concerns)? We can help:

  • Native CSV importer — export from the Contasimple panel and upload it at /migrar/desde-contasimple. Preserves PGC sub-accounts.
  • Upload your own FNMT certificate — encrypted AES-256-GCM in R2, audit log for every use. No shared signing.
  • Free post-migration audit: we compare totals per fiscal year between your Contasimple export and Cofactu, and report any discrepancies.
  • If your access was blocked (a recurring post-Cegid Trustpilot complaint), email us at hola@cofactu.com — we'll recover what we can.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly happened with Cegid and Contasimple?
In July 2022, Grupo Primavera acquired Contasimple. In 2023 the merger with Ekon was approved (BORME-C-2023-5198) and since then it operates as "Cegid Contasimple." Most modern Trustpilot complaints cite "since the ownership changed" as the turning point: price hikes, overloaded support, slowness from the stack migration.
The Cegid certificate thing sounds serious. Is that legal?
It's legal — users sign a consent form. But it raises legitimate concerns: if Cegid signs invoices with ITS certificate on behalf of hundreds of tax IDs, a technical or legal issue at Cegid affects everyone. Cofactu encrypts the certificate YOU upload (AES-256-GCM in R2), audits every use, and only decrypts it in the worker's memory at signing time — explained at /seguridad.
How do I know the same thing won't happen with Cofactu?
That's why we publish /precios-justos with a 24-month no-increase commitment plus a real price history from day one. If we ever raise anything, it's recorded publicly at that same URL. Contasimple never published its price increases — they showed up as individual invoices that users only discovered at renewal.
If I migrate from Contasimple, do I lose journal entries or sub-accounts?
A dedicated importer at /migrar/desde-contasimple parses the Contasimple export (CSV clients/invoices/entries) and preserves sub-accounts as-is. We run a dry-run with a mismatch preview before committing. If your access was blocked (a recurring Trustpilot complaint), reach out to us — we have workarounds.
