Invoice every job from your phone, before you get back in the van
Quote in front of the client, acceptance on the spot, VeriFactu invoice as soon as the job is closed. The day's paperwork gets done that day — not on Sunday night.
Compliant with RD 1007/2023 (VeriFactu) · Data hosted in the EU · No lock-in
A self-employed plumber or electrician needs invoicing software that works where they work: at the client's home, from a phone, with patchy coverage and ten minutes between jobs. Cofactu is a web app installable on your phone (PWA) that lets you draw up a quote in front of the client, send it for on-the-spot acceptance, and turn it into a VeriFactu-compliant invoice — with its QR code and signed record — the moment the job is done, without touching a computer.
The tax side of the trade is already handled: 10% VAT on home repairs that meet the requirements of article 91 of the VAT Law (property over 2 years old, materials under 40% of the total) or 21% otherwise, and if you're taxed under direct estimation, the quarterly Modelo 130 is calculated from your real income and expenses and filed with the AEAT straight from the app.
Expenses are also captured on the go: photograph the receipt from the supply store on your phone, OCR reads the supplier, base amount and VAT, and the expense is logged before you start the van. Come quarter-end, there's no shoebox to empty.
What makes invoicing complicated in plumbers and electricians
Paperwork happens at night and on weekends
Eight jobs a day and the invoices get left for Sunday: work gets misplaced, invoices go out late and get paid worse. Every invoice delayed by a week is cash flow that doesn't come in and a client who finds it easier to keep putting off payment.
Verbal quotes that get argued over later
"You told me it would be about €200" — without a written, accepted quote, an argument over payment is guaranteed. And going home to draft it on the computer means many quotes never get sent at all.
Supply store receipts lost in the van
Every material receipt that gets lost is VAT you don't deduct and an expense that doesn't reduce your Modelo 130. At 21% VAT, a glovebox full of unrecorded receipts is hundreds of euros a year handed to the tax office.
VeriFactu arrives in July 2027 for you too
Invoices in Word, an Excel template or a paper receipt book stop being valid once you issue with computerized means: RD 1007/2023 requires signed, chained records. Penalties for non-compliant software reach €50,000 a year.
What Cofactu solves for plumbers and electricians
Real functionality, live in the product today — not on a roadmap. All included in the plan, no paid add-on modules.
Installable app on your phone (PWA)
Cofactu installs from the browser like any other app: quotes, invoices, expenses and payments from your phone screen, with the same account you use on your computer at home.
Quote in front of the client
Materials and labor from your catalog with saved prices, total with VAT in seconds, and sent by email with an acceptance link. The client accepts from their phone and it's logged with date and time.
From quote to invoice in one tap
Job done: the accepted quote turns into an invoice without rewriting a single line. It comes out numbered, with a chained hash, digital signature and AEAT verification QR code — real VeriFactu, not just a nice-looking PDF.
Trade-specific VAT applied correctly
10% on home repairs that meet the requirements, 21% on everything else, selectable per line: labor and materials can be broken out, as the 40%-materials rule requires.
Expenses with photo and OCR
Photograph the supply store receipt before leaving the parking lot: supplier, base amount and VAT extracted automatically. Deduction logged, receipt in the bin, clean glovebox.
Modelo 130 and 303 in one click
Your quarterly income and expenses calculate the IRPF installment payment (Modelo 130) and VAT (Modelo 303), with an editable preview before filing them with the AEAT from Cofactu.
More detailsA plumbing job in Cofactu
From "my water heater broke" to getting paid, all from your phone with no paperwork left hanging.
- 1
On-site quote
You arrive, check the water heater, open Cofactu on your phone: an 80L water heater from your catalog + 2h labor + call-out fee. Total with VAT shown to the client, who accepts on their phone on the spot.
- 2
You buy the material on the way
At the supply store, photograph the receipt: €218 for the water heater logged as a deductible expense with its input VAT before heading back to the job.
- 3
Invoice when the job is closed
Water heater installed: you turn the quote into an invoice, the client receives it by email with its VeriFactu QR, and you log the payment (cash, Bizum or bank transfer). Job truly closed — not "pending invoicing."
- 4
A quarter with no surprises
April arrives: Modelo 130 already has your income minus your expenses, and Modelo 303 has your output and input VAT. You check the preview and file with the AEAT from the app. No shoebox, no spreadsheet.
Home repair invoice with materials broken out
This is how the tax details of a typical operation in the sector look in Cofactu. Every record carries a chained SHA-256 hash, digital signature, and AEAT verification QR code.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| 80L electric water heater replacement — labor (2h) | 90,00 € |
| Call-out fee | 25,00 € |
| 80L electric water heater (material) | 265,00 € |
| Taxable base | 380,00 € |
| VAT 21% (materials > 40% of the base) | 79,80 € |
| Invoice total | 459,80 € |
- Here the material (€265) exceeds 40% of the total base (€380), so the whole operation is taxed at 21% — the rule in article 91.One.2.10 of the VAT Law isn't met. Had the repair been mostly labor (material ≤ 40%), it would have been taxed entirely at 10%.
- Cofactu breaks out labor and material by line, so the 40% rule is evaluated against real numbers — not guesswork — and the breakdown carries through correctly in the VeriFactu XML.
- The water heater bought that morning (€218 + VAT) is already logged as an expense: the job's real margin (invoiced minus material) is visible the same day.
