The invoicing software for hospitality that's already VeriFactu-compliant
Touch POS, kitchen tickets, tables, tips and recipe costing — and every ticket comes out with a chained hash, digital signature and QR code verifiable at the AEAT. No separate cash register, no double system.
Compliant with RD 1007/2023 (VeriFactu) · Data hosted in the EU · No lock-in
A bar or restaurant needs invoicing software that works as both a floor POS and software compliant with RD 1007/2023 (VeriFactu). From January 2027 (companies) and July 2027 (self-employed), every ticket you print must be generated with a verifiable, signed record with a hash chain — the traditional cash register and the "good old" POS stop being valid. Cofactu brings both together: the POS you use to charge table 4 is the same system that signs and chains every transaction.
The difference from a generic POS lies in what's specific to hospitality: orders that reach the kitchen on screen (KDS), a floor plan showing the status of each table, splitting the bill per diner, dish modifiers ("gluten-free", "medium-rare", "extra cheese" with its surcharge), tips split among the team, and recipe costing for every dish so you know the real margin your menu leaves.
And the difference from generic invoicing software is that here compliance isn't a separate module: the simplified ticket from the bar, the full invoice a business customer asks for, and the corrective invoice for a refund all come out of the same VeriFactu flow, with its QR code and submission to the AEAT.
What makes invoicing complicated in hospitality
The cash register no longer cuts it
With VeriFactu, tickets must come out of a computer system that generates signed, chained invoicing records. A classic cash register or an uncertified POS exposes you to fines of up to €50,000 a year — and you can't hand-write a full invoice to a customer who asks for one.
Floor and kitchen out of sync
Paper orders that get lost, dishes that come out late because nobody saw the "no dairy" modifier, tables you don't know are asking for dessert or waiting for the bill. Every slip-up at the pass is a burned customer and one fewer review.
You don't know what margin each dish leaves
The set menu could be losing money and you won't know until the quarter closes. Without recipe costing (ingredient cost per serving), the menu gets designed by guesswork, and supplier price hikes quietly eat into your margin.
Tips: opaque split, guaranteed friction
The tip jar gets split "by feel" at the end of the week and there's always someone who thinks they deserved more. Without a record by shift and payment method (more and more tips go on card), splitting tips is a constant source of friction with the team.
What Cofactu solves for hospitality
Real functionality, live in the product today — not on a roadmap. All included in the plan, no paid add-on modules.
Touch floor POS with native VeriFactu
Charge at the bar or table from tablet or phone. Every ticket generates its invoicing record with a chained SHA-256 hash, digital signature and AEAT verification QR code — automatic, with no extra steps when charging.
More detailsKitchen orders (KDS)
The order reaches the kitchen display instantly, with modifiers visible and a wait-time urgency indicator. No paper, no shouting across the pass, no forgotten dishes.
Floor plan and bill splitting
A layout of your floor showing the status of each table (free, occupied, reserved) in real time. The bill splits evenly or per diner, and each portion comes out with its own VeriFactu ticket.
Recipe costing and margin per dish
Define the recipe for each dish (ingredients and quantities) and Cofactu calculates the cost per serving using the real prices from your supplier orders. The end-of-day close tells you the real margin on what you sold, not just the till total.
Tips split among the team
Record the tip in cash or card on every payment and split it at close: evenly, proportional to sales, or proportional to tips generated. It's recorded who gets what, with no arguments over the jar.
Ticket, full invoice and AEAT forms
A business customer asks for a full invoice with their tax ID and it comes out of the same ticket in two taps. The 10% VAT on your sales feeds straight into Model 303 — Cofactu files it with the AEAT in one click.

From "table for four" to the till close, everything within the same system — and every transaction leaves its VeriFactu record.
- 1
Seat and take the order
You open table 4 on the floor plan and take the order from the tablet: two set menus, one dish with a "gluten-free" modifier and an extra with a surcharge. The order shows up on the kitchen display instantly.
- 2
Kitchen prepares with context
The KDS shows each dish with its modifiers and color-codes it by wait time. The cook marks each dish as ready and the floor sees the pass is done.
- 3
Charge however the customer wants
Bill split between two diners, one part on card with a €2 tip and the other in cash. Each portion generates its own VeriFactu ticket with a QR code. One of them is self-employed and wants a full invoice? Two taps and it comes out with their tax ID.
- 4
End-of-day close with a real margin
The Z close aggregates sales by category, payment methods, tips to be split and — thanks to recipe costing — the real margin for the day. The output VAT is already accounted for the quarter's Model 303.
Table ticket with hospitality VAT and tip
This is how the tax details of a typical operation in the sector look in Cofactu. Every record carries a chained SHA-256 hash, digital signature, and AEAT verification QR code.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| 2 × Set menu | 27,27 € |
| Ribeye (medium-rare) | 16,36 € |
| Extra cheese surcharge | 1,82 € |
| 2 × Coffee | 2,73 € |
| Taxable base | 48,18 € |
| VAT 10% (hospitality) | 4,82 € |
| Tip (card, not subject to VAT) | 2,00 € |
| Total charged | 55,00 € |
- Hospitality services are taxed at the reduced 10% VAT rate (art. 91.Uno.2.2º LIVA). Cofactu applies it by default to menu items — and 21% to whatever falls under that rate (e.g. certain drinks on a terrace with live music, if applicable).
- The voluntary tip is not part of the taxable base: it's recorded as a separate cash movement and goes into the team's split, not into Model 303.
- This simplified ticket is a complete VeriFactu invoicing record: hash chained with the previous ticket, digital signature and QR code. If the customer asks for a full invoice, it's issued from the same ticket with their tax details.
