Migrate from Contasimple to Cofactu without losing a single invoice

Contasimple still runs a decade-old interface, has no public API, and depends on the Spanish website. If you want a modern tool with real VeriFactu, PSD2 banking included, and 1-click AEAT filing, export your data to Excel and upload it to Cofactu — the parser detects the format automatically.

During the migration

Migrate with peace of mind — nothing gets lost along the way

No history lost

Your Contasimple invoices keep their original numbering (e.g. 2025/0142) and issue date. The Cofactu VeriFactu hash chain starts clean from your first new invoice.

Zero invoicing downtime

You can keep invoicing in Contasimple while you try Cofactu in parallel. When you're ready, cancel Contasimple — Cofactu keeps your data.

No lock-in

If you ever want to leave, export ALL your Cofactu data in 1 click (clients, invoices, expenses, PDF + signed XML). We don't block the exit.

Step by step

Bring your data from Contasimple

Contasimple doesn't expose a public API: export your lists as Excel/CSV and our parser, tailored to its exact format, reads them.

Only method

Excel/CSV export from Contasimple

1

Export from Contasimple

~ 2 min

Contasimple → Invoicing → List → Export to Excel/CSV. Repeat for Clients and Products.

Contasimple also supports exporting to PDF and other formats, but Cofactu needs Excel or CSV (structured data). If your list is very long, use the export by quarter.

2

Upload the files to Cofactu

~ 1 min

Create your free account and go to Invoices → Import → From another program → select Contasimple.

The parser detects the Contasimple format automatically. Contasimple's traditional encoding (Latin-1/ISO-8859-1) is normalized to UTF-8 before parsing — special characters (ñ, accents) arrive correctly in Cofactu.

3

Confirm and go

~ 2 min

Review the preview with N invoices + M clients and click Import. Done.

Invoices keep their Contasimple numbering (e.g. 2025/0142) and enter as drafts. If they already had an AEAT CSV (filed via Contasimple), they're imported as accepted and are NOT re-sent.

After migrating

What you get in Cofactu that you didn't have in Contasimple

Before · Contasimple
  • 2026 UX, not 2010 UX
  • Real VeriFactu with an error catalog
  • PSD2 banking + expense OCR included
  • AEAT filings submitted directly (unique)
Now · Cofactu
  • 2026 UX, not 2010 UX

Cofactu has a modern interface (Tailwind 4, shadcn/ui), command palette, keyboard shortcuts, responsive dashboard, mobile PWA. Contasimple still looks a decade old, especially noticeable on mobile.

  • Real VeriFactu with an error catalog

Cofactu submits to AEAT from day 1 with an official CSV. AEAT error catalog explained (1xxx/4xxx/5xxx), automatic broken-chain detection (4171), 1-click repair. Contasimple has VeriFactu but without the diagnostic tools.

  • PSD2 banking + expense OCR included

Over 40 banks via Enable Banking + receipt/invoice OCR with Lucía (quotas per plan). Auto-reconciliation with invoices. Contasimple has no native OCR or banking.

  • AEAT filings submitted directly (unique)

Cofactu files 303/111/130/115 + 190/347/349 directly with AEAT and returns the official CSV. Contasimple generates the file but you submit it manually on the tax office site.

Clean chain

Your VeriFactu hash chain starts clean with your first new invoice

Invoices you already sent to the AEAT from Contasimple keep their CSV — we don't touch them. From your first invoice in Cofactu, the SHA-256 hash chain links up whole, signed, and verifiable, with no baggage from the past.

  • Contasimple history imported and searchable
  • New chain linked and signed from day 1
  • Automatic repair if an invoice breaks the chain (error 4171)
Once you've migrated

File your AEAT tax forms directly from Cofactu

Where Contasimple makes you download the file and upload it manually to the AEAT portal, Cofactu files it directly. Covers all 7 forms with the official CSV saved in an immutable audit log.

Will my invoices already sent to AEAT from Contasimple be re-sent?
No. Cofactu detects the ones that already have an AEAT CSV and marks them as 'accepted (imported)' — they're not re-sent, no duplicates. The Cofactu VeriFactu hash chain starts clean with your first NEW invoice.
Do I lose Contasimple's change history or audit trail?
Contasimple's internal logs stay there — our importer doesn't extract them. But from the moment of import, Cofactu keeps its own immutable audit log with a hash chain.
Does it work with any Contasimple plan?
Yes. Excel/CSV export is available on all Contasimple plans. Since Contasimple has no public API, all users use option B regardless of plan.
How long does it take with 500 invoices?
About 5 minutes: 2 min to export from Contasimple, 1 min to upload, 2 min to parse + preview + commit. The preview is shown before the commit so you see exactly what will be imported.
Do my special characters (ñ, accents) come through correctly?
Yes. Contasimple uses Latin-1/ISO-8859-1 encoding in its older exports; Cofactu detects the encoding and converts it to UTF-8 automatically. If you see a garbled character, you can fix it in the preview before committing.
Can I also import expenses and VAT books?
Yes. Contasimple → Expenses → List → Export Excel. Cofactu detects the format and imports them into the Expenses module. If you have PDFs attached in Contasimple, upload them in bulk afterward.
What about my tax filings submitted from Contasimple?
The filing data stays in Contasimple; Cofactu imports the invoices and expenses that SUPPORT those filings. From there, Cofactu submits your next 303/111/130/115 filings directly to AEAT with an official CSV.
